Most of the people that Jan Malmström portrays are public figures. Actors, TV personalities, writers, etc. People who are well known by the Swedish population. A common denominator is that they have not intended to apply to the public, it has simply become a consequence of their job and see it themselves as a by-product. The challenge and goal is therefore to photograph these people in a new way. Away from the public image and instead highlight the unique and natural in the person. To achieve this, the photographs are usually taken by one hand. The photographer and the person. It becomes a kind of intimate, relaxed sphere where both parties help to create an image. Sometimes in an environment or situation that helps to tell part of the story behind the person.
